2024-2025

February 21st

A group of Dar al-Athar al-Islamiyyah’s Friends embarked on an exploratory journey through Algeria’s cultural treasures! The trip included visits to the Tipaza Museum, which showcases the region’s rich history, and the Royal Mausoleum of Mauretania, a UNESCO World Heritage site. They explored the Byzantine-style Notre Dame d’Afrique Cathedral and the lush Garden of El Hamma, home to centuries-old trees and rare plant species. In Constantine, they admired the striking Monument to the Dead and visited the Emir Abdelkader Mosque, a masterpiece of Islamic architecture. In Ghardaïa, they were captivated by the historic market and its unique handmade carpets before concluding their journey in Timgad, the legendary Roman city that remarkably retains its original layout. A journey filled with history, art, and culture.
