This morning, at the Amricani Cultural Centre, Sheikha Hussa Sabah al-Salem al-Sabah, Director-General of Dar al-Athar al-Islamiyyah, received HE Dr. Mohammad al-Jassar, Secretary-General of the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters, Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Saeed and Dr. Faisal al Kindari professors of History at Kuwait University, and took them on a tour of the new exhibition The Dawn of History which was opened at 10AM.
The exhibition showcases artifacts collected by late Sheikh Nasser Sabah al-Ahmad al-Sabah( 1948-2020), from Prehistory to the Early Bronze Age, from ancient Egypt, the Indus Valley, the Levant, Anatolia, and Mesopotamia.
This exhibition is a result of collaboration between DAI and Kuwait University, College of Arts, which led to post-graduate studies and the university offering masters degrees in Ancient History and Archeology. Students, supervised by Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Saeed, produced a catalogue comprised of selections from The al-Sabah Collection dating back to prehistoric times.
